A graduate of the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, John McGourty maintained an “A” average over the course of his high school career. In addition to taking honors classes and serving as a faculty-appointed mentor to younger students, he played both baseball and ice hockey. Further, John McGourty was an advanced woodworking student who donated a bench to the school before graduation.
Mr. McGourty matriculated at Emory University in 2015 to study finance and strategy management consulting. While working toward his bachelor of business administration at Emory, he has served as an orientation leader with the camping and wilderness survival group Outdoor Emory.
Beyond this, John McGourty serves as the philanthropy chair of his college fraternity and the founder of the Emory Golf Club, an organization that supports both competitive and non-competitive initiatives for Emory golfers. He maintains a consistent presence on the Emory dean’s list and expects to graduate in May of 2019.
