A seasoned Miami-area law enforcement professional, Adam Burden got his professional start in 1987 as an officer with the City of Miami Police Department (MPD). Over the next decade, he accepted promotions as a police sergeant and police lieutenant. He also attended Miami’s Barry University to secure his bachelor of arts in professional studies. Shortly after graduating from Barry in 1997, Adam Burden became a police major with the MPD.

Six years later, Mr. Burden entered top leadership ranks as assistant chief of police. While engaged in this position, he continued his education and earned a master of science in management from St. Tomas University as well as senior management certificates from the University of Louisville and the Boston University Institute for Police.

Adam Burden left the MPD in 2010 and served a series of relatively brief tenures with the Opa Locka Police Department and several different businesses and post-secondary institutions of learning. For the past four years, he has assisted the city manager and the police executive command staff of the City of North Miami as a consultant and aide.
