Adam Oltman Porcher’s curiosity has taken him from performing at his college theater to learning Java and Web design. A student at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey, Adam Porcher has gained work experience in various combinations of customer and retail service at local businesses.
While in high school, he held responsibilities as a counselor at a Quaker-operated youth conference center. He organized games, supported the youth directors, and resolved conflicts between children. Mr. Porcher also discovered an abiding interest in computers as a member of his high school’s Robotics Club.
Moving on to Guilford College in North Carolina, he studied psychology and took part in extracurricular activities such as the Judicial Affairs Subcommittee and the school’s Yacht Club. He also followed his interests in surfing and anime film.
Mr. Porcher returned home to New Jersey and enrolled in the computer science program at Mercer County Community College. He has supplemented his classes with theatrical appearances in Lady Windermere’s Fan by George Bernard Shaw and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.
In his spare time, Adam Porcher enjoys playing jam sessions on piano, bass, and drums. He swims, writes poetry and song lyrics, constructs computers, and draws cartoons, as well. Further, his enthusiasm for Japanese culture has led him to begin learning the language.
