A popular featured artist at festivals, concert halls, and other venues, jazz pianist Al Copley performs both solo and in ensembles. He has appeared regularly for 26 years in Paris at Caveau de la Huchette. Also frequently seen in Switzerland, Al Copley is a resident artist at le Grand Hotel Bellevue in Gstaad and has brought his Blues Train band to the Bern International Jazz Festival, where he has also brought his Quintet to Marians Jazzroom (Home of the Bern Int. Jazz Festival) for New Years Week for over 23 years.
Al Copley has been a mainstay at many other jazz festivals in France, Switzerland, and the United States. At the Montreux Jazz Festival at Stravinski Hall, he has opened for Bob Dylan and guested with Jimmie Vaughan. He has also played with Mr. Vaughan as an opening act for Eric Clapton at London's Royal Albert Hall and has performed alongside such legends as Etta James, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Al Copley has recorded numerous solo albums including Blue Paris Nights, which Keyboard Magazine's French edition selected as No. 2 Record of the Year upon its release. He has appeared on the recordings of such leading artists as Lou Rawls, Big Joe Turner, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and he recently released a CD entitled Here's to Life, a collection of hits including Georgia on My Mind, La Vie en Rose, and Where or When, playing piano and providing vocals.
