The recipient of an associate degree in communications and media from Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey, Alexander Mazen earned Dean's List distinction in each of his three years at the school and served as vice president of its Film Club. He also tutored students in courses such as film study, video production and editing, psychology, and music theory. Alexander Mazen is presently pursuing a bachelor's degree in history at Montclair State University, where he is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Alexander Mazen is particularly interested in German history from 1870 to 1945, and understanding the conditions in the country that allowed Adolf Hitler's rise to power. He hopes to one day become a Holocaust scholar and intends on furthering his studies in Germany.
When he isn't studying, Mr. Mazen works as a freelance photographer and video editor. He served as a production assistant on the short independent film The Seagull, where he learned how to set up equipment and work in a team setting. He counts horror as his favorite film genre, and also enjoys hobbies such as hiking, playing various musical instruments, and writing poetry.
