Working as a psychologist in private practice, in university settings as well as in hospitals other mental health institutions since 1973, Alisa Kasachkoff, PhD, has served the Greater Metropolitan New York City populations of all ages with a wide range of psychotherapy and psychological services. She has also been on the faculty of New York Medical College and headed the psychological internship program at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx as well as supervised many psychologists and psychiatric residents in training. She also is on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City
Additionally, in 1986, Dr. Alisa Kasachkoff completed her Post-Doctorate Degree from the Adelphi University Gordon F. Derner Post-Doctoral School of Psychology (located in Garden City, New York), finishing with honors in her specialty of child, adolescent and family psycho-diagnostics and psychotherapy. Since that time, she has been an active faculty member at New York Medical College and has served on several Congressional committees on mental health for the Federal Government as well as for New York State. Most recently, she has served as a psychological consultant to many institutions related to COVID-19.
Dr. Kasachkoff formerly lived and worked in the Boston area, where she engaged in an active private practice in psychotherapy for families, adults, children and adolescents as well as in an active self-generated group psychotherapy practice. During this time, she also performed diagnostic assessments for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and spearheaded the clinical treatment and consultation services rendered by the Community Sex Education Institute. .
And besides all of the above, Dr. Kasachkoff also worked with both challenged and exceptional students as a clinical professional on an individual basis as well as a consultant in this area to the school systems in the Boston and its suburban areas. After moving to New York City, she continued to work in this area of psychotherapy and psychological consultations both as a clinician and as an educator and has done so to date.
In addition to her PhD and her Post-Doctorate, Dr. Kasachkoff also holds a Master's Degree in Health Services Administration from the Harvard School of Public Health. While there, she was elected by the faculty to serve as the psychological consultant to various committees of Harvard University designed to improved the mental health of the surrounding Boston communities.
