A licensed clinical social worker, Amber Parris Lamberth employs a holistic treatment approach to assist clients in gaining freedom from issues ranging from sex addiction and eating disorders to self-harm and suicidal tendencies. Since 2013, Amber Parris Lamberth has served as the primary therapist and PHP coordinator at The Highlands Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
In this position, she incorporates methods such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy, as well as the 30 tasks of recovery developed by Patrick Carnes and prolonged exposure therapy. She has also begun a program with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals to become a certified sex addiction therapist.
Previously, Lamberth worked as a therapist at the Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders in Chelsea, Alabama. There, she assisted clients in addressing traumatic experiences contributing to eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. She holds a master's in social work from the University of Alabama and a bachelor's in the same field from Auburn University.
