An internationally respected leader in the field of health care analytics, Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei serves as associate professor of information systems at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei has played an instrumental role in modeling the spread of diseases like Ebola and COVID-19 through technical reports that have been referenced frequently by authorities. His work focuses on disease modeling and prediction and occupational safety, with research projects on wildfires, mining, and bridge and road construction. Over the course of his career, he has been backed with funding from the NSF, CDC, state agencies, and international organizations.

As an educator, Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei enjoys creating an innovative and engaging experiencing using tools like social media. He has experimented with flipped classrooms and peer-learning, and evaluates engagement using the revised community of inquiries framework. Recently, he has been involved in the development of an online executive MBA in health informatics.

Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei holds a doctor of philosophy in information systems from the University of New South Wales and a master of science in information technology from the Royal Institute of Technology.
