Amy Chan is a Chicago-based organizational leader who has focused her career in the education and civic engagement field, having recently founded Social Catalyst Consulting in 2019. Through the firm, Amy Chan has worked with several local and national clients, such as Justice Informed and the Milwaukee-based tech company Task Cause. Since January 2020, Amy Chan has overseen college partner outreach efforts to senior campus administrators with the Boston-based nonprofit College for Social Innovation for their Semester in the City program, which matches undergraduate students with internships at nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses to address various social issues.

In 2019, Amy Chan advised another Boston-based nonprofit, Citizen Schools, with the launch of their STEM pilot, called “Catalyst.” She recruited over 100 STEM professionals and undergraduate and graduate students to volunteer to teach courses on automation and robotics, app development, and computer science at 12 Massachusetts public middle schools reaching over 750 students. She also created a plan to scale and sustain the experiential learning program in New York, California, and North Carolina. With the initiative, Amy Chan drew on her volunteer management and strategic partnership building experience when she served for more than seven years as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the University Community Service Center at the University of Chicago.
