A member of the National Association of Independent Schools, Amy Purcell Vorenberg is an experienced educational administrator who most recently served as head of school for Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, D.C. There, she led widespread administrative changes to facilitate a culture of teaching and learning and participated in the Management Committee of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation. Prior to joining Beauvoir in 2013, Amy Purcell Vorenberg spent seven years as head of school for The Philadelphia School.

In her work at The Philadelphia School, Amy Purcell Vorenberg oversaw growth in the student body population, which expanded from 360 to 410, and created an expansion model to accommodate future growth to 500 students. She also raised more than $6 million through the Every Inch A Classroom Capital Campaign to fund teaching space in two buildings, including half a city block purchased from the City of Philadelphia.

Ms. Vorenberg previously worked for six years as lower school division head for Shady Hill School and has 14 years of experience as an elementary teacher in an independent school setting. Supplementing her professional pursuits, she has held board positions with the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools, the Community College of Philadelphia's Early Childhood Education Advisory, Garrison Forest School, and the Keewaydin Foundation.
