After receiving an associate degree from Highland Community College in 2007, Andrew Jordan enrolled at Northern Illinois University and earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and physical education. He spent the first six years of his career as a physical education teacher and varsity boys' basketball coach at West Prairie High School and concurrently served as assistant principal during his final two years at the school. From 2016 to 2018, Andrew Jordan oversaw instruction for about 450 students as principal at West Carroll Primary School.
As of 2019, Andrew Jordan has worked as a K-12 principal with a school district in Illinois. Some of the district-wide initiatives he has implemented or intends to put into place include having regularly scheduled assemblies, highlighting student and staff achievements, and switching to NWEA MAPs to track student progress.
While holding full-time academic positions, he earned master's degrees in both educational leadership and educational administration with a superintendency endorsement. He intends to begin working toward a PhD in education in the near future.
