Andrew Lombara might originally be from Boston, but he now calls New York State his home. Despite the fact that he is currently retired, Andrew doesn’t see himself slowing down at all and he still finds ways to make life an exciting adventure each day. Not only does he play sports, but he’s also a die-hard fan. He is unwaveringly loyal to his home town teams – Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Bruins. Because he is retired, he has a lot more free time to spend with his family and friends.
Ever since he was young, Andrew Lombara has been driven and passionate no matter what his interests are. His earliest memory is of him battling over a ball with his brothers. In high school, he was heavily involved in athletics, especially football. While attending Harvard, he continued playing football in his junior and senior year for his ivy league’s football team. When he was given the opportunity to trade on Wall Street, he found that the thrill and excitement on the trading floor was a perfect match for Andrew’s personality type. Much like during his football career, Andrew quickly started excelling as a bond trader and soon became a leader in that field.
His most current position was with HSBC Bank USA as the head of government bond training. Prior to this position, he worked for Merril Lynch, and Andrew is proud to say that every year he was in charge, Merrill Lynch was ranked as the top strips dealer by Institutional Investor magazine.
Prior to his appointment at Merrill Lynch, Andrew worked as a head trader of the zero-coupon bond desk for Prudential Securities. Because of the opportunities in his life, Andrew had the rare opportunity to do what he loved while also traveling the globe.
To Andrew, traveling has left an indelible impression on his mind and he feels everyone should try the experience at least once. Despite having flown all over the world, there are still many destinations left on his bucket list. He whole-heartedly feels that seeing the way other people live serves as a great way to open one’s mind to new perspectives. Prior to his retirement, he got the same rush from traveling as he did while on the trading floor.
Staying active is also something he takes very seriously. Working out and running are especially important to him. Andrew enjoys taking his family on trips to the beach, among other adventures, and he loves when they all cook together.
