Andy Leeka

Overseeing Growth of California Medical Operations

Medical Relief Center

Building on extensive knowledge in healthcare administration, Andy Leeka presently leads the Northern California medical insurance firm Angle Health. Active with the Hospital Association of California, Andy Leeka previously guided the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles as president and CEO.

From 1996 to 2020, Mr. Leeka oversaw the inner-city medical center in its successful turnaround from an annual $15 million operating loss into a $318 million growth operation. Expanding average daily census by more than 40 percent, he set in place a business plan that achieved quantifiable objectives and brought the hospital’s bond rating back into positive territory. At the same time, he improved quality of care, with the hospital attaining mortality rates much lower than the national average and the institution receiving “One of America’s 50 Best Hospitals” recognition from HealthGrades.

From April through June 2020, Mr. Leeka held temporary CEO responsibilities with the Medical Relief Center in Los Angeles, a role in which he oversaw the construction of a 240-bed facility in the Los Angeles Convention Center’s South Hall. Andy Leeka’s efforts helped ensure that COVID-19 pandemic-related patient outflow could be decompressed and professionally handled.
