With an extensive automotive industry background, Ashwani Muppasani most recently served as vice president Americas, operations and quality, with TE Connectivity. Operating within challenging market conditions, Ashwani Muppasani drove year-on-year growth for a company that assembles as well as produces a wide range of automotive products. He was able to accelerate real-time efficiency while implementing innovations such as end-to-end traceability.
From 1995 through 2013, Mr. Muppasani held a number of positions of responsibility with General Motors. Having joined the firm’s Flint, Michigan operations as senior manufacturing engineer, he served as senior staff assistant in the early 2000s. Among his accomplishments was guiding improvements in powertrain productivity metrics, and he set in place operating budgets spanning the entire engine sector.
As supplier quality manager with Shanghai GM from 2004 to 2006, Mr. Muppasani oversaw launch of a pioneering six speed front-wheel-drive transmission. At the same time he developed a team of GM engineers and suppliers in China, within a synergistic joint venture environment. An avid reader, Ashwani Muppasani particularly enjoys books on historical topics.
