Based in Ethiopia, Assefa Abraha Hagos has dedicated himself to successful outcomes both in the public and private sectors over the course of his career. At present, he serves as chairman and director for Welleba Business and Consultancy Services PLC, a company founded to design and construct agricultural processing facilities and breweries. As founder and majority owner of the company, Assefa Abraha Hagos oversees project development from inception to completion. Furthermore, he is chairman of Rahdan Engineering and Supply PLC, which involves itself with the trade and distribution of industrial and construction materials.
Prior to entering the private sector, Assefa Abraha Hagos committed his time and energy to building up Ethiopia via a number of public initiatives. From 1995 to 2001, he oversaw the activities of the Ethiopian Privatization Agency as board chairman, contributing to the revitalization of Ethiopia’s business sector and establishing a safety net program for citizens in need. Additionally, he was named board chairman of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, developing a business strategy made to turn the bank into a profitable entity. He later used these skills to turn around additional banks owned by the state.
