Extensively published in his field, Dr. Behzad Emad is a longtime rehabilitative and physical medicine practitioner who focuses his efforts on next-generation telemedicine platforms as founder of eOccMed.com. Serving as medical director of 10 offices across California, Dr. Behzad Emad provides guidance via online videoconferences to “designee” practitioners as they perform hands on med-legal evaluations in cases involving workers’ compensation.
Active with the American Telemedicine Association, Dr. Emad is also board certified in pain medicine, and serves as a consultant for responsible opioid prescribing. For years, he has been at the forefront of combatting the opioid epidemic through a combination of medical provider education and the implementation of safe and effective prescription methods.
Having held chief resident responsibilities while completing a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Emad began his career undertaking neurology and orthopedic evaluations related to Social Security disability. Dr. Behzad Emad subsequently led Southland Injury Medical Center, Inc., in Los Angeles as founder and medical director for more than a dozen years.
