After earning a Master of Arts with a concentration in Francophone Studies from France’s Universite d'Angers, Benedicte Mauguiere graduated from Paris-Sorbonne University with a Doctorate in Francophone cultures and literature with honors. While working toward her terminal degree, Benedicte Mauguiere was an active academic author presenting papers at organizations that include the American Council for Quebec Studies and the Association for Canadian and Quebecois Literature among many others. She went on to write several dozens of articles and book chapters as well as two books, including Cultural Identities in Canadian Literature.
Over the past 25 years, Benedicte Mauguiere has served as Professor, teaching Francophone studies at a university in the South and in New England at Colby College in Maine. Dr.. Mauguiere has served more than a decade as a Full Professor of French and Francophone studies at Colby College, and she chaired its Department of French and Italian from 2012 to 2016.
