Central American Resource Center (CARECEN)

Attorney Berna Kamyar joined the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) in Los Angeles in 2017. In this position he regularly provides representation to unaccompanied minors in immigration and state courts, with a goal of securing asylum and special immigration juvenile status on behalf of clients. He also supports clients over the course of asylum interviews conducted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In addition to handling all of the necessary legal work and composing memoranda, Berna Kamyar is capable of interviewing and translating for Spanish speaking clients.

Mr. Kamyar graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in political science and Spanish from the University of California, Los Angeles. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota Law School, publishing an article in the Corporate Counselor’s Business Handbook and serving as a research assistant before ultimately achieving his juris doctor. More recently, he earned a master of business administration from the University of California, San Diego.
