Bernard P. Hagan was a real estate executive who presided over Hagan Construction and Development for over 40 years, during which time he led the development of numerous apartment complex and condominium projects throughout the Bay Area. A graduate of the University of San Francisco, Bernard P. Hagan began his career with Westlake Realtors and later became a partner in another firm. He was a former president of both the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and the San Francisco-San Mateo Building Industry Association.
Before launching his career in real estate development, Mr. Hagan joined the U.S. Army and graduated from jump school in Sendai, Japan, serving as a member of the 11th Airborne Division. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1945 and helped the school's football team win its first city championship.
Outside of his professional endeavors, he served on the board of directors for Catholic Charities Inc. of the Archdiocese of San Francisco and was a former co-chairman of the city's March of Dimes Gourmet Gala. Additionally, he stayed active through memberships with the California Tennis Club, the Olympic Club, and the St. Francis Yacht Club.
