Dr. Beth Grosshans holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Cincinnati and both a master of arts in psychology and a doctor of philosophy in clinical child psychology from Ohio State University. While attending Ohio State, she completed a predoctoral internship at Boston Children's Hospital and a clinical fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Beth Grosshans’ professional career includes tenures as a psychotherapist with Family Counseling Service of Somerset County in Bound Brook, New Jersey, and as a psychologist in private practice in Flemington, New Jersey.
Now retired from clinical practice, Dr. Grosshans currently concentrates on a variety of writing projects and speaking engagements that are designed to engage parents and teachers. Her book, Beyond Time Out, is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as through other retail booksellers. This book offers help to guardians of children for whom the conventional wisdom of “time-outs” and other contemporary approaches to discipline simply aren’t working.
