Since late summer of 2012, Biotricity has been developing a remote patient monitoring platform for patients and physicians across a variety of chronic diseases. Biotricity plans to enter the market with its flagship product, known as Bioflux, which combines its Internet of Things (IoT) hardware with cloud technology to transmit heart rhythm and related information to the patient's physician. Through Bioflux, Biotricity offers a wearable monitoring device that includes a 4G cellular modem, global positioning, and a microprocessor that supports algorithm-based analysis of patient cardiac data.
Biotricity has also embedded the Bioflux system with a real-time operating system that supports individualized triggering, and a combination of device and cloud-stored data power for in-depth analysis of the patient's condition. The information is aggregated and a summary report is sent to the physician, who then has the tools to make a more individualized diagnosis.
Data storage and reporting on Biotricity's system is compliant with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines. Physicians access the relevant information using a secure online portal, while the patient has access to device and system assistance from Biotricity's on-demand support center.
