Senior director of Faegre Baker Daniels, Bo Kemp has spent the last 15 years working with municipal leaders around the country to help drive growth, boost efficiencies, and tackle major initiatives. He spent the first decade of his career in finance, working at Morgan Stanley and TSG Capital Group. In 2006, Bo Kemp helped with Cory Booker’s transition to mayor of Newark and became the city’s business administrator. During his time in the role, he helped Newark move away from bankruptcy and toward growth for the first time in 40 years, while managing more than 5000 city employees.
Bo Kemp next worked in Gary, Indiana, when the current mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson asked him to help reposition the city for growth. He established partnerships that initiated major projects, including a $100 million private-public partnership with the Gary Chicago International Airport and the development of the Gary Port Authority.
Mr. Kemp now serves as senior director of Faegre Baker Daniels, a consulting firm in Chicago that focuses on public-private partnerships. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
