A nondenominational church based in Allston, Massachusetts, Boston International Christian Church is a part of a larger fellowship around the world, named the SoldOut Discipling Movement. As one of a family of connected religious institutions, Boston International Christian Church helps its constituents live in accordance with the instruction of Jesus Christ, as written in the Bible.
The organization’s five core convictions are what distinguish it from other groups. Each of the five core convictions is rooted in the teachings of the Bible. For instance, the first conviction, “We are a Bible church, not simply a New Testament church,” is based upon 2 Timothy 3:14-17, 2 Peter 3:15-16, and Colossians 2:13-14, which define the word “Scripture” and address elements within the New Testament that supersede those in the Old Testament. The other core convictions are “Be silent where the Bible speaks, and speak where the Bible Is silent,” “Discipling is a command of God and not optional,” “A central leadership with a central leader,” and “The dream of the evangelization of the nations in this generation.”
