A full-time self-employed day trader based in Draper, Utah, Bret Cartwright specializes in the foreign exchange (forex) market and trades all major global currency pairs. In addition, he trades commodities such as oil and natural gas, gold, and silver. Bret Cartwright has been working in this capacity since 2003 and has finished in third place or higher in trading competitions in each of the past four years, winning competitions in 2017 and 2018.

Drawing upon his expertise in day trading, Bret Cartwright also serves as an executive forex coach at Day Trade University, through which he coaches and trains individuals on the basics of forex trading. He has coached more than 500 students as of February 2020 via online sessions and in-person symposiums.
