I have been working in accounting since 2001 and has a strong accounting background, knowledge of IT and systems and processes. I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor for both Desktop and Online. I love my family, rock music, superhero movies, and funny jokes.
My background includes but is not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Month-End Closes & Financial Reporting.
I have demonstrated initiative by documenting processes that have proven effective training tools for new and existing team members, for previous employers. My process documentations have greatly increased the ability of new hires to get up to speed quickly. Further, providing training aids for them to use for future references.
I have worked with IT in a previous capacity, with former employers, creating tools to use for all areas of accounting. For instance, I developed an extremely useful research tool that allows for the searching of receipts, PO's, invoices, and payments in one screen. Prior to that, you had to go into and use multiple systems and screens. This process saved significant time having to do processing and research. The average amount of time saved was approximately 7 minutes per purchase order.
I have also developed other tools that extracted information not seen in negative purchase orders once they are in a posted status such as tracking information, vendor return authorization #, and original purchase order #. This allowed the Accounts Payable departments to process returns faster, thus saving an average of 40 minutes per return.
I am considered a leader among my fellow colleagues because of my knowledge of accounting systems and research ability from a number of previous companies I have worked for. I served as trainer to new staff & new clients, while helping my colleagues resolve technical issues and research their own inquiries.
I have a positive attitude and eager to learn and improve processes. I will always take steps working within other areas of the business so I can better understand the differences between each area. I have worked with buyers in order to improve the return and charge back processes to make it easier for accounting to process related returns. I even developed a disputed invoice/purchase order tracking tool in excel for use by all of accounts payable & receivable departments to track these items to ensure issues are resolved and not forgotten. This same process was also utilized for other departments in accounting.
I have helped companies build spreadsheets that have saved hundreds of hours of manual entry and processing. This includes implemented new process and procedures to help streamline an accounting department or small business. I am extremely passionate about people and what they do and I’m always wanting to learn new areas of business and processes.
I am quick to jump in to help as well. Even if I have a lot on my plate, I am always volunteering to show someone else how to do something, train them or help vendors and customers with inquiries. Vendor and customer disputes are resolved quickly as I know when and how to escalate issues needing immediate resolution to be sent to owners. Overall, I am an exceptional asset to have on your team.
