An accomplished auto mechanic and supervisor in New York City, Charles Calabrese brings more than three decades of experience to his position as a senior line supervisor for the MTA Bus Company. In this position, he manages a team of 10 maintenance employees who inspect a fleet of buses at the Spring Creek Depot. Charles Calabrese draws upon a deep familiarity with bus maintenance elements such as Mean Distance between Failures (MDBFs), Operator Vehicle Condition Reports (OVCRs), and schedule forecasting.

Prior to joining the MTA, Charles Calabrese spent 25 years as the owner and operator of Checker Auto Repair, a full-service gas station and repair shop in Brooklyn. There, he led a staff of five mechanics and three gas-station attendants while overseeing all day-to-day operations, including ordering supplies, managing fuel inventory, and supervising customer service. He also gained familiarity with New York City licensing and industry certifications during this time.

Charles Calabrese graduated from James Madison High School and completed coursework at Kingsboro Community College before embarking on his vehicle maintenance career. An active member of the community, he has received recognition for his volunteer work with Joe Torre Little League Baseball. During his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and vacationing in tropical destinations such as Aruba.
