A medical doctor who specializes in general psychiatric diagnosis and care, Charlotte Murphy, MD, has operated her own private practice in New Paltz, New York, for the past decade. During that time, Dr. Murphy concurrently served as a guest lecturer at the State University of New York at New Paltz and as the medical director of the New Hope Manor residential drug treatment center in Barryville, New York. Her work at New Hope Manor involved providing general physiological and substance abuse treatment to female clients, many of whom were pregnant or dealing with postpartum issues. Charlotte Murphy, MD, also taught evidence-based approaches to opiate addiction to New Hope Manor staff and spearheaded fruitful collaborations with members of the law enforcement and social services communities.
Outside of the professional arena, Charlotte Murphy, MD, is a passionate supporter of animal rescue efforts and an active member of the Humane Society of America. She also enjoys getting outside to kayak and hike.
