The recipient of the “Star of the Quarter” resident award from the University of Oklahoma Family Medicine Residency program, Christopher F. Stubbs, M.D., made his ability to teach and interact with others known early on in his medical career. Christopher Francis Stubbs, M.D. was educated at the University of Kansas and later held varying responsibilities during his postgraduate training at the University of Oklahoma, including supervising interns, seeing patients in clinic, and giving regular lectures. During residency Dr. Stubbs also found the time for research, and during his second year he had the distinguished honor of achieving publication as lead author in a major medical journal:

This variability served Dr. Stubbs well in his later role as a primary care physician in Audubon County Memorial Hospital. Since the hospital served patients from a rural community in Iowa, physicians held a range of responsibilities and Dr. Stubbs was responsible for everything from providing geriatric, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care. At the same time, he accepted a volunteer position that he continues to hold at the EMS service in Exira and Audubon, Iowa.
Immediately prior to his focus on medicine, Christopher “Chris” Stubbs, M.D., served as the founder and owner of a software development company in Chicago, Illinois. During the four years he led the business, he was responsible for designing mobile and computer applications, marketing, and bookkeeping. Dr. Stubbs still has apps in the iOS App Store to this day.
