A lover of art and nature since she was a child, Christy Bishop combined these two interests as an art major in college. However, not long after, Christy Bishop married and started a family, following which she began focusing more on being a mother and enjoying family vacations to places like the Caribbean and Hawaii. In Hawaii, she discovered her love of sea turtles and soon after returned to her roots as an artist.
The recipient of an associate degree in design technology from Ivy Tech Community College, Christy Bishop also studied fine arts at Western Wyoming Community College and now creates her artwork in St. Augustine, Florida. Emphasizing color and texture, most of her paintings include the ocean and animals such as jellyfish, sea turtles, and dolphins, while others depict humans and their relationship with the open water. Ms. Bishop is a certified diver and lives within a short bike ride of the North Atlantic Ocean. She also holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Franklin University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
