Columbus, Ohio-based City Kids Daycare operates with a Perfect Inspections history with Ohio Daycare Licensing and offers daycare programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. It opened in 1989 under the leadership of Patricia Elam, a child development professional certified in Early Childhood Education. She expanded the daycare to include a second location 10 years later, and continues to lead City Kids Daycare with a set of philosophies that focus on fostering child development and parental involvement.
Programs engage children through a broad assortment of activities that encourage independence and free expression, while promoting the practice of critical academic skills. Toddler and pre-school programs include a curriculum that overs study areas appropriate for the first year of elementary school, such as math, science, social studies, art, and language arts. For infants, City Kids employs experienced caregivers that create separate environments for play and sleep; they also work with parents to develop a schedule that suits the needs of each infant.
City Kids Daycare also manages a summer program for children aged four to eight. Summer camp participants enjoy a number of activities, including games, reading, computer development skills, and field trips. Furthermore, summer programs encourage friendships, intellectual challenge, and physical activities.
