A military veteran based in Austin, TX, Clayton Ray Leonard manages the Lionheart Veterans Community blog, through which he shares articles concerning important veterans' issues. He spent six years as a diver in the U.S. Navy and rose to the rank of petty officer second class before receiving an honorable discharge in 2014. Clayton Leonard worked as a tech publications library manager during his last three years in the Navy, prior to which he served as a diving instructor. As a Navy diver, he also performed underwater maintenance and repairs on naval vessels.

During his time in the U.S. Navy, Clayton Ray Leonard earned two Good Conduct Medals and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He completed his training at the U.S. Naval Diving & Salvage Training Center in Panama City, Florida. In addition to his military experience and education, he studied at Austin Community College in Austin, TX, and earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and health from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Leonard is passionate about community service, athletics, and Christianity. He has volunteered with the Oak Harbor Youth Football League and regularly attends church services. In addition, he enjoys playing rugby and exercising.
