Since high school, Cole Hranicky has successfully divided his time between academics and extracurricular activities. While studying at Memorial High School, he played for the junior varsity football team as both middle linebacker and full back. As a member of Young Life, he attended weekly Bible study meetings and took part in a summer retreat and a wilderness camp. When Hurricane Harvey struck Texas in 2017, Cole Hranicky participated in relief efforts by helping homeowners recover valuable belongings, repairing damaged homes, and assisting firefighters in putting out gas leaks.
Now studying business administration at Texas Tech University, to prepare for his chosen field of study Mr. Hranicky took courses in accounting, global business, business information management, money matters, and business law at the Academy of Finance. He has, so far, earned a GPA of 3.4 out of 4.0, while still actively engaging in community service.
Cole Hranicky assisted in decorating the Pediatric Intensive Care units at the UMC Children’s Hospital in preparation for the Christmas holiday in 2019. Furthermore, he spent over 30 hours volunteering at the Houston Food Bank, where he sorted, sanitized, and packed food items. He also served meals to people in Greater Houston who do not have access to nutritious food.
