As an Interventional Cardiology fellow at Tufts Medical Center, Colin Hirst, MD, works to integrate advanced interventional cardiology therapies in the treatment of heart failure. Colin Hirst, MD, accepted this role following three years of successful service as a clinical research fellow in the Tufts Medical Center Division of Cardiology, where he accepted a number of academic and professional leadership roles.
He served for two years as co-leader of the electrocardiography course for medical students and also served as a faculty member for the Training and Education in Advanced Cardiovascular Hemodynamics (TEACH) program sponsored by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. He was selected to serve as the chief fellow in the Division of Cardiology at Tufts Medical Center in 2017.
An experienced researcher, Dr. Hirst has published on topics such as intraaortic balloon pump use in patients with chronic, advanced heart failure and hospital readmissions of heart failure patients. He is the recipient of both third place and first place honors at the internal Tufts Medical Center Division of Cardiology annual research symposium.
