A word from our president: Hello, my name is Jesse Higuera, acting president for Colleges against Cancer, CAC. I am first time freshman at CSUN majoring in political science with a minor in economics. CAC is a club that spreads awareness to our college peers on the repercussion of not getting regular checkups can have. However, the biggest way we achieve this is through our annual event, Relay for life. This event is a big fundraiser that helps fund research for cancer through the American Cancer Society.
I joined the club due to the close relation cancer and I have. Many of my family members have passed away from cancer, including my grandmother on July 4, 2015. Through this club I hope to bring an end to cancer once and for all, so that no one ever has to hear the words, “you have cancer”. I have been relaying for four years, and I hope to one day live in a cancer free world. Join me and together we can paint our world purple!
