An Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine alumnus, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer holds a DVM alongside a BS in small-animal science, which he earned at Delaware Valley University. After acquiring his DVM, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer joined Harvard Medical School, where he served as a clinical veterinarian for two years.
During this time, Dr. Schondelmeyer oversaw four vivariums and consulted with investigators on a range of animal-related issues. Following this, he was the director of preclinical veterinary services and efficacy as well as surgical research services at the Toxikon Corporation, where he also was an attending veterinarian.
At Toxikon for seven years, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer oversaw vivariums totaling 27,000 square feet while also maintaining the animal care program. In addition, he trained teams of veterinary technicians and study directors, among others.
Since 2018, he has held a similar role with the University of Connecticut-Storrs, where he also manages a group of satellite facilities. Dr. Schondelmeyer holds membership in several professional organizations, including the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
