The recipient of a PhD in communications from the University of Tennessee, Dr. Dale Brill is an experienced economic strategist and policy developer who began his career in 1988 as a president of Advertising Associates, Inc., a for-profit agency he developed out of the communications department of a county-owned hospital. Dr. Dale Brill later taught courses in marketing and advertising at Boston University and Florida State University and developed a successful graduate internship program through relationships with General Motors and Visit Florida, both of which later employed him in executive roles.
As global business leader and dean of e-commerce with General Motors Corporation, Dr. Dale Brill created eBoot Camp, which resulted in over $5 million in cost savings and moved web-based marketing into a mainstream sales tool. In three years as a chief marketing officer with Visit Florida, he oversaw a $30 million budget, managed five subcommittees, and led initiatives that resulted in the largest single-year in-state tourism increase (13.3 percent). Subsequently, he was given the Atlas Award for Best Destination Branding by the Association of Travel Marketing Executives.
Dr. Brill gained additional business and marketing leadership experience through roles such as executive director to the Governor's Office of Tourism, Trade, & Economic Development, president of the Florida Chamber Foundation, and founder of Thinkspot, Inc., a public policy consultancy he established in 2013. He presently serves as senior vice president of research and community development with the Orlando Economic Partnership.
