Daniel “Dan” Snowberger is a respected Colorado academic administrator who holds responsibilities with the Durango School District as superintendent of schools. Among Dan Snowberger’s accomplishments has been spearheading the implementation of a State Model Educator Evaluation system and Competency Based Learning Initiative. At the same time, he has created a robust protocol for instructional feedback.
In 2017, Mr. Snowberger earned appointment to serve on the Governor’s Educational Leadership Council, where he guided a subcommittee tasked with recommending a strategy for creating a balanced assessment system. Coordinating the efforts of community members spanning a diverse political spectrum, he delivered unified recommendations to move forward.
Having served as principal and instructor with Florida schools throughout the 1990s, Daniel Snowberger began his career in the Colorado public schools in 2002 as the principal of Bear Canyon Elementary. As principal, he focused on the redesign of instructional supports in ways that enabled more consistent achievement among at-risk students, including those with special needs.
Subsequently serving as the Douglas County School District’s regional director of instructional support services, Dan Snowberger consistently advocated in areas such as literacy and English language development support, as well as gifted and talented programming.
