A resident of Sunriver, Oregon, Dr. Daniel Skotte serves dual roles as a family physician with High Desert Family Medicine and an aeromedical examiner with the Federal Aviation Administration. He formerly served more than 50 consecutive years in the United States Air Force, ultimately commanding the 146th Medical Group to ensure the global deployment capability of more than 300 airmen in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. At the time of his armed forces retirement, Dr. Daniel Skotte was both the longest serving Air Force Academy graduate and the longest serving Air Force officer in the history of the Air Force.

In recognition of Dr. Daniel Skotteā€™s outstanding military achievements, the Air Force awarded him the Legion of Merit in a ceremony at the Channel Island Air National Guard Base, Point Mugu, California. Over the course of his military career, Dr. Skotte also received a Meritorious Service Medal, an Air Force Commendation Medal, an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, a National Defense Service Medal, and an Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon, among other honors.
