Darren Cowdrey has more than a decade of experience as a pastor, during which time he has worked with several churches, including serving as a associate pastor at the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church (UMC). At Shepherd of the Hills, where he was employed for five years, Darren Cowdrey helped young people and families grow spiritually while teaching numerous short-term classes. In addition, he created programs focused on helping children and teenagers find their spirituality, while also offering professional and personal counseling services.
Following his time at Shepherd of the Hills, Rev. Cowdrey was a senior pastor at the Good Shepherd UMC for five years, a role he also held at the Palisades UMC. In both of those positions, he was responsible for leading worship sessions, as well as delivering professional and personal counseling to church members on a one-to-one basis. In addition, he led a team of volunteers in different departments to ensure the smooth operation of all activities.
Since July 2019, Rev. Cowdrey has served as a senior pastor at UMC’s California Pacific Conference, where he is responsible for growing the ministry. He also oversees the creative and spiritual direction of the church and leads a multi-disciplinary team of volunteers.
