A certified life coach with a PhD in clinical psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada, David M. Garner has a background in research that includes studies supported by the McLaughlin Fund, the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, the Ontario Mental Health Foundation, and Health and Welfare Canada. David M. Garner, PhD, is particularly well known for his research on subjects related to eating disorders.
Over the course of a career that spans more than 40 years, David Garner has held academic appointments with multiple institutions of higher learning, including tenures as an professor with the University of Toronto, a professor in Michigan State University's department of psychiatry, and a resident site supervisor with the University of Toledo Medical College.
Since 2000, Dr. Garner has headed the board of directors for the River Centre Foundation in the Toledo suburb of Sylvania, Ohio. For the past seven years, he has concurrently served as president of Sylvania’s Heart Life Coaching.
