Principal David Schwartz co-founded Slate Property Group in 2014. At the company, his role focuses on developing housing for people with low-income backgrounds. He works with local officials and community organizations to identify and complete affordable housing projects. David Schwartz has also led Slate Property Group into a $250 million credit fund established alongside the Carlyle Group.
Since establishing Slate Property Group, Mr. Schwartz and the firm have been involved in numerous housing projects, such as redeveloping 247 North 7th Street. In addition, he has co-founded several other organizations during his career. As co-founder of Rush Brook Partners, Mr. Schwartz served as its principal for four years. While there, he completed five projects, split across rebuilds and renovations, with three of these being located on Pineapple Street in New York.
Actively involved in his community, Slate Property Group’s David Schwartz supports several organizations. A board member of the Brooklyn Hospital, he also sits on the board of the Citizens Housing and Planning Council.
