As a physician assistant at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, David Tan is part of a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals. In this role, he provides primary medical services such as performing examinations, diagnosing injuries and illnesses, ordering tests, and prescribing medicine. David Tan has worked at the hospital since 2018. Prior to this, he served as a PA at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.

When he isn't working, Mr. Tan enjoys doing outreach through his PUB church. He is also a member of the Lutheran Church, where he plays base guitar and violin in its contemporary choir and sings in its traditional choir. In addition, he has acted in a Christmas show organized by the Hinsdale, Illinois, community.

He completed the PA program at George Washington University, and previously served 3 years in the United States Army where, as a medic, he achieved the rank of sergeant.
