David Witkin, CEO of Beryl Capital Management, serves as a board member for the Redondo Beach Unified School District in Redondo Beach, California. The district includes 11 regular public schools, a continuation school, and a center for adult learning. David Witkin was elected to the board in March 2015, and will help manage a $90 million budget throughout his four-year term alongside four other board members.
In his first two years of service, Mr. Witkin's accomplishments have included the passing of local ballot Measure K, which will generate $600,000 for the district annually, and the creation of the College Savings Nights financial lecture series for parents.
Alongside his service on the school board, David Witkin is active in his community. He is a Little League baseball coach, and an involved parent at Beryl Heights Elementary School. When he finds time away from his ample responsibilities, David Witkin is an accomplished ocean swimmer and marathon runner.
Beryl Capital Management, which David Witkin founded, is a merger arbitrage hedge fund based in Redondo Beach.
