A resident of Scottsdale, Arizona, Denny Ryerson has built his reputation by developing quality retirement homes throughout the state. Over the course of 35 years, Denny Ryerson has established numerous facilities in Phoenix, Sun City, and Scottsdale.
Upon earning his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona, Mr. Ryerson joined Coldwell Banker’s commercial real estate division. After handling property management responsibilities for 2 years, he left the firm and worked as a mortgage broker and real estate agent. He then returned to Coldwell Banker, where he handled land transactions with homebuilders. First Federal Savings and Loan then offered Mr. Ryerson a position as a land disposition specialist, processing some $100 million in foreclosures.
Faced with the task of settling his recently widowed mother, Mr. Ryerson began purchasing and operating retirement homes. His research indicated an impressive future for these ventures. After obtaining funds from First Federal, he financed, sited, and designed his first community, The Heritage in Phoenix. Mr. Ryerson’s radio advertising featured veteran ABC broadcaster Paul Harvey. Soon afterward, he incorporated under his own name. Mr. Ryerson has gone on to many accomplishments, such as negotiating the highest price per door of any retirement community in America.
A member of several organizations, Mr. Ryerson served as the president of Homebuilders of Central Arizona and as a member of Gonzaga University’s Board of Regents. He was also on the board at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City. His leisure activities include travel, golf, and daily exercise.
