After graduating with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies from Barry University, Attorney Derek Tyler went on to study law at the University of Miami before establishing himself in the Fort Myers, Florida area. Before opening his private practice, Fort Myers, Florida Attorney Derek Tyler spent five years as part of the legal team at the DWG Corporation during the 1980s, whose subsidiaries included Royal Crown Cola (RC Cola) and Arby's Restaurants, among others.
He helped represent the company in more than 600 different lawsuits brought by various government entities, such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Securities and Exchange Commission. He has also worked in public advocacy through the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office.
Mr. Tyler has operated his private law practice for more than 20 years. He defends his clients in criminal litigation proceedings, leveraging his decades of experience to help them achieve the best outcomes possible. He works with clients in multiple practice areas, including drug/sex crimes, domestic abuse, and juvenile cases.
