Desiree Marvin has a long history of involvement with her Warroad, Minnesota-based family business where she is a shareholder.. Before attending Concordia College to study communications, she worked for Marvin Windows and Doors as a sales associate. While working toward her bachelor of arts degree, she handled the company’s technical publications. Desiree Marvin also wrote articles for Cross Grain, the company’s newsletter. .
She subsequently served the company as a training/communications specialist and as an instructional designer. In addition, she has been studying and developing ways to design work spaces to drive creativity and productivity, in her role as a workspace researcher. Thanks to these efforts, her family business has garnered a number of significant honors including a Minnesota Family Business Award and an American Business Ethics Award.
When she isn’t working, Desiree Marvin enjoys outdoor activities that range from hunting and fishing to diving and canyoneering. She is also a licensed private pilot.
