What is dhamma?

Dhamma defined means essential quality or character, as of the cosmos or one's own nature - practicing to conform to religious law, custom, duty, or one's own quality or character. The root of the word dharma is "dhri", which means "to support, hold, or bear.” Commonly, dharma means "right way of living" and "path of rightness.”

The search for meaning is part of the path that all human beings must face. Sometimes we suffer in the process of understanding ourselves and the universe we live in. Other times we suffer simply because we clash with our own expectations of life. In either situation, the cause of all suffering is created by our attachment to ourselves, our beliefs and our egos.

Many individuals throughout time have found a way to remove their attachments allowing them to thrive - with their relationships to themselves, to others and to their world.

Learn to live as a model for others through the cultivation of healthy thinking and actions.

Utilizing techniques of meditation to develop mental and emotional stability, Adrian uses many years of experience to help people develop their own self-knowledge. Having spent one year in silence as a Buddhist monk following the Mahasi Sayadaw vipassana meditation tradition at the Panditarama monastery in Burma with Sayadaw-Gyi as chief abbot, Adrian bridges the disconcerted dichotomy between eastern and western thought by meshing them into a cohesive practice that anyone can follow. Developing an understanding of ourselves is a step towards making positive decisions, and with positive decisions comes a healthier life.

Influenced by Indian devotion to guru, Buddhist and continental philosophy, and modern psychological thought, Adrian guides people through words and practice to a deeper understanding of themselves which simultaneously unravels the power of inner peace and contentment.

Currently living in New York City, Adrian offers deep meditation for beginners and advanced meditators interested in cultivating a practice rooted in wisdom. He also provides holistic mental health services adapted to each individual including:

- psychiatric and wellness assessment
- medication management
- crisis intervention
- life empowerment and coaching
- addiction recovery
- positive psychotherapy and therapeutic life support
- psychiatric consultation services and evaluations.

Following the 5 precepts as a daily moral code, Adrian models a life of moral conduct and for developing insight into the truth of nature. As a layperson, he works as a psychiatric nurse practitioner providing consultations to hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.
