An individual of diverse talents and interests, Diane Bandy holds an associate of arts in art with a minor in horticulture from Richland College in Dallas, Texas, and a bachelor of arts in art with a minor in psychology from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. She also studied art at the University of Texas at Dallas; cosmetology at Atlantic Beauty College in Durham, North Carolina; cooking at the Institute of Culinary Education (then the Peter Kump Cooking School) in New York City; and dog grooming at the New York School of Dog Grooming in New York City. Since January of 2019, Diane Bandy has been taking art classes at the Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A hair stylist since the mid-1980s, Diane Bandy currently lives in Wexford, Pennsylvania. She previously cut and styled hair at Chic Hair and Man Trap in Durham, North Carolina, and at Jean Louis David and George Michael Salon in New York City. She also performed manicures at George Michael.
