A graduate of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering, Dianoush Emami also possesses professional designations/regulatory expertise from the City and Guilds of London Institute and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. As an engineering professional, he has designed a range of power generation and power system control systems with a focus on effective monitoring and precautionary measures. Dianoush Emami’s career highlights include managing the comprehensive System Control and Operation Philosophy and implementation project for Washington Water Power (currently doing business as Avista) that incorporated the latest industry trends and proven technologies.
Dianoush Emami has also driven significant changes in regulatory policy, earning the 1986 Working Group Recognition Award for his contributions to the ANSI/IEEE SCADA Standard C37.1-1987 and the IEEE/PES 1995 Best Technical Report Award for a tutorial document entitled “Fundamentals of Supervisory Systems.” In 1994, he served as co-chair of the IEEE/PES Substations Committee Meeting.
