An assistant principal with the Dorchester County public school system, Dr. Darnell Yates has over 15 years of educational experience. During this time, Dr. Darnell Yates has drawn on a solid academic background while holding leadership positions at several educational facilities.
In 2001, Dr. Yates graduated from Virginia Union University with a bachelor of arts in criminology and criminal justice, following which he attended Virginia State University (VSU), where he earned a master’s degree in elementary education.
Dr. Darnell Yates also holds a master’s degree in special education from VSU, which he received in 2008 before attending Cambridge College to earn a master’s degree in school counseling. Continuing his education, he received a master’s in educational leadership from Western Governors University, alongside a doctorate in higher education from Argosy University.
Since 2018, he has served as an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University, where he is also a faculty supervisor. Alongside being a member of the National Association for Elementary School Principals, he is involved with the American School Counselor Association, among other professional organizations.
